“What can a poor boy do ‘cept for sing in a rock n ’roll band?”

Street Fighting Man’ - The Rolling Stones

Al O'Hare and The Warms formed The Circle in 2004, got gigging and quickly developed a follwing. The boys took-off in 2005 when drummer and singer Phil Bernia joined the band and The Circle recorded the 'On Every Wall' demo EP - local BBC radio went mad for the disc, play-listed 'Easy Does It' and 'Nowhere To Fall' and invited the boys in for live session and interview. Word began to spread and national institution NME quickly got involved - they declared The Circle "like a Scouse Oasis fronted by Springsteen" and praised the band's "snappy, sussed beat-pop." The glowing review finished by calling the boys' music "harmony drenched" and "unquestionably good." Since then 'Who I Am' has become a staple of internet radio stations and music sites like www.popworldpromotes.com and www.nme.com/newbands and the group have played to big crowds at Liverpool's Cavern Club, Zanzibar Club and Carling Academy. The Circle went back into the studio in Spring 2006, following interest from the EMI record label and independants down in London, and recorded the 'Way Of Life' demo EP - heartbreaking ballad 'The Longest Day' has already become a firm favourite on BBC Radio and all the other songs have been playlisted at various stations, including crossing the pond to RogueRadio in America. The boys have gigged solidly this year and are building quite a fanbase thanks to their high energy, life-affirming rock n' roll show - this band mean business and word of mouth continues to grow. The Circle have played a few high-profile support slots recently and are about to bust out of Merseyside and take on the world - songs this good should be heard by as many people as is possible ... think of 'She Loves You' by The Beatles, 'Substitute' by The Who, The Jam's 'Going Underground', the Stones' 'Get Off Of My Cloud', 'There She Goes' by The La's and all your favourite rock n' roll, pop n' soul music and you'll be thinking about The Circle. "A Scouse Oasis fronted by Bruce Springsteen ..." - you better believe it.
